When you distribute through TuneGO, TuneGO will collect your streaming royalties only. 

If you are the Songwriter, Publisher, or Session Musician, you will collect your royalties elsewhere. Here's a breakdown:

How to collect your royalties as a Songwriter:

  • Register to a Performing Rights Organization (PRO) as a Songwriter. PRO's in the U.S. include BMI, ASCAP, SESAC, and GMR. Almost every Country has their own PRO. PRO's collect royalties on behalf of Songwriters and Publisher from Blanket Licenses. Blanket Licenses are purchased by thousands of venues and outlets including radio stations, streaming services, TV stations, department stores, bars, live venues, and more! PRO's split the royalties they collect 50/50 between the Publisher and Songwriter.
  • Register to Songtrust. Songtrust acts as a publishing administrator to collect publishing royalties on behalf of Songwriters. These royalties include performance royalties paid by Performing Rights Organizations (e.g. ASCAP, BMI, SESAC) and mechanical royalties from about 95% of the music publishing market. You do need to be affiliated with a PRO in order to use Songtrust's service.
  • Register to SoundExchange. SoundExchange collects sound recording royalties in the US from service providers such as Pandora, SiriusXM and webcasters. SoundExchange then gives 50% of these royalties to Rights Owners, 45% to Featured Artists, and 5% to Non-featured Artists. 

How to collect your royalties as a Publisher:

  • Register to a Performing Rights Organization (PRO) as a Publisher. PRO's in the U.S. include BMI, ASCAP, SESAC, and GMR. Almost every Country has their own PRO. PRO's collect royalties on behalf of Songwriters and Publisher from Blanket Licenses.   • Register to Audiam. Audiam collects U.S. Streaming Mechanical Royalties, Canadian Digital Mechanical Royalties, and YouTube Royalties for Publishers.
  • Register to HarryFox. HarryFox issues licenses for both physical and digital distribution in the U.S. and handles royalty payments to Music Publishers.
  • Register to SoundExchange. SoundExchange collects collects sound recording royalties in the US from providers such as Pandora, SiriusXM and webcasters. SoundExchange then gives 50% of these royalties to Rights Owners, 45% to Featured Artists, and 5% to Non-featured Artists. 

How to collect your royalties as a Session Musician:

  • Register to SoundExchange. SoundExchange collects digital royalties from service providers such as Pandora, SiriusXM and webcasters. SoundExchange then gives 50% of these royalties to Rights Owners, 45% to Featured Artists, and 5% to Non-featured Artists.
